I couldn’t resist using that circle element for a shaker—I just couldn’t!! I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then stamped Tiny Stars Background with Versamark on Ranger Watercolor Paper, heat embossed it with white detail embossing powder, and popped it up on the base with foam mounting tape

Next I cut Stone Gray card stock with Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics and cut a hole with Inside & Out Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics. I stamped the sentiment from LLD Count the Stars with Cornflower dye ink and created my shaker element with foam mounting tape, Heat Resistant Acetate and Pretty Pink Posh sequins and adhered it to the card front. For the horizontal element across the circle I added LLD Stars & Wishes Die-namics, cut from Silver Sparkle card stock, and finished off with stars cut with Blueprints 17 Die-namics and Blueprints 25 Die-namics, also cut from Silver Sparkle card stock.

And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!

Love Ya Bunches–CTD #399

CTD399_2016jun29

Hello and thanks for joining me for a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! Vickie is our hostess this week and she’s picked some swee colors based on her inspiration piece.

I had to ponder on these colors for a while and I finally came up with using Cheeky Monkey and Cheeky Monkey Die-namics. I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then on more Sweet Tooth card stock I applied molding paste through Wonky Chevron Stencil, tied around some baker’s twine, and popped it up on foam mounting tape on the base. Next I stamped the monkey with Black Licorice hybrid ink, cut him out with the coordinating die, and colored him with Copic markers.

The sentiment was stamped with Versamark on Black Licorice card stock cut with Blueprints 2 Die-namics and popped up on foam. I added the monkey and some enamel dots, and was done!

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD399 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd399 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented June Guest, Kara Vrabel!

June Creative Construction with Blueprints–A Stitch in Time

ccwithbp_2016jun28

Hi, everyone, it’s time for another MFT Creative Construction with Blueprints Design Team Challenge!

We hear you - you love stitched elements. Die-namics that feature this hand-sewn detail are always a hit. Our line of Blueprints Die-namics includes an endless variety of stitches - from layering pieces to dynamic shaped borders, we’ve got a little bit of everything. This month, we’ve challenged our team to showcase innovative ways of incorporating stitched accents into their projects.

I had a ton of fun creating this card! I was inspired to give little PI girl a bikini by my fabulous MFT teammate Francine, and decided to make it an “itsy bitsy, teeny weeny, yellow polka dot bikini”. Anybody else remember that? Ha!

So, I started with a
Sweet Tooth card stock base. Next I did a watercolor wash on Ranger Watercolor Paper with Peerless Watercolors in two colors—one for sand and one for the sea. I’ve had this design in my head for weeks and finally got around to it! I cut them—and Sweet Tooth card stock for the frame--with Snow Drifts Cover-Up Die-namics, created my sand and sea background and popped it up on a layer of Sweet Tooth card stock cut with Blueprints 25 die-namics with foam mounting tape. This Blueprints element is the same size as an A2 card base so it fills up the base entirely for a layerless look.

Then I stamped PI Fun In the Sun on X-Press It Blending card, colored with Copic markers, fussy cut her out, and popped her up on foam. The sentiment was stamped on more Ranger Watercolor Paper cut with a sweet stitched flag from Blueprints 29 Die-namics. I finished off with some Pretty Pink Posh sequins in Aquamarine and some Raindrops.

And that’s it! Thanks so much for stopping by today! See you soon!
